The Artist

Dave with his family
After fifty years in Alaska as portraitist and business owner, Dave and Terry Dittman moved to Central Oregon to be nearer wonderful, growing "lower 48" family.
These days, through a new series of imaginative, vintage-era sepia tone American Frontier Art oil paintings, Dave seeks to provide a modern window into the early Oregon Trail Pioneer period by combining authentically accurate historical records with new elements of poetic verse and fresh, original figurative art.
Philosophy
Through my historic American Frontier Art, I try to encourage viewers to respect and remember the heroism, hardships, and untold stories of the courageous men, women and children among our pioneer forebears" Along the Oregon Trail.
